Ancestry DNA for non-members of Ancestry
« on: Thursday 03 December 20 07:11 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to figure out if there's any benefit in my son testing with Ancestry.   :-\ I'm a member of Ancestry and have a tree but my son is not a member of Ancestry, although obviously entered on my tree.

He is happy to do a DNA test which should give some matches/information re him and thus re my husband but is there some way I can load my son's DNA into my tree?

How would the information be relayed back to him as he's not a member?

(Sorry, not very well explained but hope you can work out what I mean!)  ::)

Your son would have to register his own account, which can be done for free, then make you the manager of his results

Hi

See  https://support.ancestry.co.uk/s/article/Gifting-an-AncestryDNA-Test

He can create an account for free - see last paragraph. I think he can then link his kit to your tree  and also share his results with you by inviting you. Alternatively, you can become a manager.
