Sorry about the confusion regarding the “Marlborough Express”.  I wasn’t aware the paper had only released copies of their publication up to 1920.

Mckha489, I have checked the details identifying the article headed “Fifty years in Picton”.  The item is definitely stated to be in the “Marlborough Express” dated 18th November 1905, but obviously it is not.  What is confusing is that in the article which you have posted headed, “More or Less Personal”, there is a paragraph recounting the Fullers’ arrival in Picton.  This is just one paragraph, imbedded in a different article.  The correction in the “Marlborough Express”, 20th November 1905 seem to be referring to this 18th November paragraph as it states there was another daughter who landed with Anne Fuller, James Fuller and Mary Ann Fuller, Sarah Jane Fuller.

Thank you Minniehaha for your suggestion to contact the “Marlborough Historical Society”.  I did this before Christmas and have received a reply stating that they are working through the enquiries.  Hopefully I will get a response in the New Year.

That is  the one I linked earlier Alan, but clearly it is not headed up as her reference says it should be.

I tried searching with the headline. Nothing.  So I think there has been a bit of poetic licence in the referencing.

Morning again.

I don't have the time to futher explore now.
It is only a four page paper at that time, and that was all I could see re subject OR date.

Could not find anything in the PRESS that is credited in the above, but it must be remembered that the WEEKEND PRESS [that rivalled the WEEKLY NEWS of Auckland] has not been digitised.  FULLER entertainments produce rather a lot of hits, if that name is used in a search.

The WEEKEND PRESS being the weekend read, and HOME COUNTRY copy, was full of editorial copy. Some articles, and series, being quite lengthy.

Some copy was reprinted in the week day [Mon/Fri] editions, of the originating newspaper, and reprinted by others throughout NZ. If not the Christchurch Library, have helped me in the past when I have been able to supply detailed instructions, where I would expect to find the non digitised copy.
They hold copies of the WEEKEND PRESS.

Hi,
I just came across your search for the books about my family.
My mother was a Fuller and her father was Anne Fuller's(nee Taylor) grandson.
Anne and her son James arrived in Picton in 1855.with her two daughters Sarah,Mary Ann and her brother William Taylor a widower his daughter Ann and her husband Joseph Brown.
They apparently set out  from Killaloe County Clare where John Fuller was a storekeeper.
He died  in 1845...James aged14 and the girls 1and 2.They sailed to Australia in1852 to join William Taylor.
I have both the books as they were published for family reunions.
I am now in Australia but there are still family in Marlborough.
My Great grandmother (m.James Fuller)was a Mc Cormick which is the line Rex Weber the author descended from.
