My Lovely Mum
« on: Thursday 03 December 20 11:43 GMT (UK) »
Greetings Nice People,
I have just got a pdf of my Lovely Mums Birth Certificate with the basic idea of
finding where exactly she was born. I thought as I also grew up in Hackney I would
know where it was - Wrong! She was born at 5 Askew Street, Hackney in 1919.
So, it's either been re-named or bombed to pieces or...
Thank you for any help you can give - Take care - Kind Regards - Keith

I had a look in my reprint copy of the first A-Z;  Askew Street is a turning off Frampton Park Road, just south of Loddiges Road.

Using Google Maps the area seems to have been redeveloped.  Askew Street looks to have been in the area around Petiver Close and Woolridge Way.

Hope that helps.

Greetings Nice People,
Thank you Nice People for your help and answers that have solved my problem.
I knew my parents met at Morning Lane Infants School and knew each other most of
their lives. There was a story that my Mum stood on the stairs ln the school aged about
8 or so, pointed at my Dad and said "one day I'm going to marry him!".
Now, both their houses have been knocked down and been replaced by flats and their
school is now under a car park. That's the way the buildings crumble!  ;)
Thank you again Nice People! Take care - Kind regards - Keith
