435 Sauchiehall Street in 1920

I have record of a marriage by declaration in July 1920 taking place at 435 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow. This was not the address of either the Bride or Groom.
Can anyone suggest a reason for using this address?

I had the same situation, with both participants and the marriage taking place round the corner, at 435 Sauchiehall Street
