435 Sauchiehall Street in 1920
« on: Wednesday 09 December 20 09:54 GMT (UK) »
I have record of a marriage by declaration in July 1920 taking place at 435 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow. This was not the address of either the Bride or Groom.
Can anyone suggest a reason for using this address?

Many thanks,
Baird

The address is mentioned in this post , along with others , connected to marriage -

I had the same situation, with both participants and the marriage taking place round the corner, at 435 Sauchiehall Street

A Legal practice or Meeting Hall has been suggested  :-\

Just to add to ev's reply-there are quite a few ads in the British newspapers like this one:

MARRIAGES Completed; total cost, 30s; call or write for free particulars; 9 till 8. John Hay, Solicitor, 435 Sauchiehall Street.
July 24, 1918 - Daily Record - Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland
