I've one other Westerby whom I cannot find who is/was Laura Jean Westerby born 19/8/1912 at Haldimand who appeared on the 1921 census and was apparently living there at Broad Street in 1949 with her parents as a spinster.

I can tell you on 27 Jul 1921 she was visiting her aunt, Mrs. Wm N. Swent, Rainham Centre.

DonM I'm a bit baffled by the Jarvis records and can't see how these relate to Laura?

The Record was the paper of day west of Dunnville.  People were nosey parkers so they published everything from who visited who too marriages, deaths and so forth.  So you will find Westerby, Gillip and Swent in the paper.  It could help fill in the blanks of some of people you are searching for and even what they did in their daily life.  Then again maybe its not of interest and that's fine I offer it as simply another tool in your quest.

You can google Jarvis Record <surname> it will return a few hits but the archives are in a older format not conducive for modern search engines.
