Sidney George Blank
« on: Wednesday 09 December 20 20:04 GMT (UK) »
Hi Everyone I'm trying to find out some more details on the above Sidney G. BLANK and his family in Devonshire.  I have just received his marriage certificate 1914 for here in NSW and his parents are Henry Stockman Blank (deceased) and Alice Petherbridge (deceased).

Sidney's father was a Plasterer and Sid was 34 in 1914 according to the information on his marriage certificate.  It seems that Sid and Beatrice did not stay together too long as they both moved on to other partners.  I have not been able to find him on the census's in England as yet or any details on his parents deaths etc or his immigration to NSW.    Thanks for any additional information.  Kindest regards Dianna

his father appears to have emigrated to Australia in 1883, so you're probably looking for a death over there

Hi Thanks for your reply and information, unfortunately I cannot access link you have sent!! Need an ancestry sub.

I do have his death certificate here but it does not have too much relevant information.

That is why I could not find Sidney's birth, as you have pointed out!  He is illegitimate is that correct.

Will be interesting to see if he was just using the BLANK surname or if his parents eventually married??  Would be interesting to see Sidney's birth certificate.  Kind regards Dianna

Hi I can see the 1881 Census with Sidney as a Nurse child, any clue what that means and where is his mum/dad.  This is strange.  LOL.  Thanks Dianna

HI again Pauline I see Henry Stockman Blank is living with his parents aged 19 on the 1881 Census.  The plot thickens.  I'm just chasing up his immigration record, from memory he was 23 ish and single.  So perhaps trying to run away from the situation over there.  Very interesting.  Dianna

In your first post you have Alice Petherbridge, and then you call her Beatrice in the next paragraph.
What is the correct name, please?
