Thanks again Sandra.

I have seen the photos of G C Upcott.

I looked at the find a grave records and there are a few for Cullompton but only two seemed to be directly linked to this branch of the family/

Not every one is recorded. Approximately 6,500 burial records are available for the Town of Cullompton in Devon, South West England, with a mixture of Burial and Grave register scans.

Cullompton Cemetery Burials dated 4 October 1856 to 24 May 2010 are available as burial register scans.

St Andrew’s Church
Lane’s Aisle is one of the most significant reminders of the wealth created by the cloth trade (like Greenway’s Chapel, Tiverton).
Merchant’s marks related to the cloth trade inside and out of the church related to the wealthy clothier John Lane (d.1529) who has been described as head borough or bailiff of Cullompton. Graves of the Upcott family and other cloth merchants.

Thanks Sandra,

When this Covid thing is finally behind us I might take trip down to Devon and have a look at a place I'd never even heard of before just a few days ago. It sound quite interesting.

Are you a social media person ?

There is a facebook page for St Andrews Church - wondered if it would be worth asking if anyone could help or knows of Upcott burials in the churchyard ?
