I'm looking to find out if William Churchward has married twice.

I have found one marriage 31st Oct 1607 William Churchward to Elinor Teoldon in Churston Ferrers, Devon.

The second is 20 Nov 1591 William Churchward to Rawliver Ellete in Churston Ferrers, Devon.

I haven't found any death yet of what appears to be wife (Ellete)

The second marriage (Teoldon) is definitely connected to my family but was wondering why William married so late many family trees have his birth as 1562 Stoke Gabriel Devon.

Two marriages or just a late starter??

thank you I hadn't found that.

It doesn't rule out a second marriage.  The timeframe is very tight.

Don't assume that the Stoke Gabriel baptism is 'your' William CHURCHWARD. Churston Ferrers records only survive back to 1589, so he may well have been baptised there but no record is extant.
