Actually, Dow is traditionally an Irish Boy's Name, meaning Dark Haired.
Kirkham, Garlick, Worthington, Shaw, Bamber. Fylde Coast

Dow is also a surname, did the scribe forget her forename & put in her surname?

If the info. is available online it's there for anyone wishing to view it i.e. a link to the original doc is fine.

Don't think info. from 1750s has any copyright issues?

Can I just ask why you need to transcribe a previous transcription please?

There are other ways of giving the info. e.g. scanned/photo copy/photo...email/post etc?

This thread is currently up to page three and though people have offered a couple of suggestions as to the name/s I’m not sure anyone is convinced about what it is.

We are all keen to help you, but we really need more from you in order to do that. We are all quite curious as you can probably guess and I’m sure we would enjoy the challenge of trying to track down the original documentation to clarify D***’s name.

If for some reason you don’t want to pursue this or if the list is secret for some reason, then let us know and we can move on to other challenges.
