Another girls name
« on: Tuesday 15 December 20 03:10 GMT (UK) »
Hi
Could someone decipher these names please? Probably abbreviations, I think Dodo ? and Isa ? probably for Isabel or Isabella, in the 1750s period

Many thanks
Meegan

I think you'll need to supply a good bit more for letter comparison to decide?

I'd say yes to Isa.

Add...What is the doc. as it doesn't look like a baptism?

It looks like a list of names?

I think Dodo ?

What you see as a 'd' is the tail of the 'g' from what looks like Mgt?

Can you provide some more text please so we can figure out what the name beginning with 'D' could be?

This doesn’t look like writing from the 1750s.  :-\

Is it a recent copy of something taken from an old document? If so, have you, or can you, locate and view the original?

When you say it is a list of bride’s names .... is it from a church register? If so, which church?

I am thinking that there may be other sources which may give you this same information in a more legible form.

Glad it wasn't just me thinking the writing looked more modern, maybe a typo for 1850s?
