Missing birth record Samuel Burrows Woodbridge around 1831
« on: Tuesday 15 December 20 11:53 GMT (UK) »
I am at a loose end again...I know that my great grandfather was Samuel Burrows born Woodbridge/Sibton around 1831.His parents were James (Jas) Wolton Burrows and Matilda nee Woolnough
I have their marriage as 1824 - their first son was James 1825 Woodbridge St.Mary - then Samuel (1826-1828) - then Richard - b.Sibton -1827 - then Joshua b.Sibton 1831
I have an 1841 census listing at Friest Farm ,Dallinghoo which has Matilda , James 16 ,Samuel 14, Richard ,12 & Joshua 10
1851 has Samuel at Burgh (born Sibton and aged 19)
I have his listings from 1861 & 1871 (in Wales and married to Sarah) 1881 and 1891
All the listings mention Woodbridge so he's the man but I cannot nail down a birth record for him
around that time..I have tried FindMyPast ,Family search and Ancestry but to no avail - mention of the infant and death but not of an 1831 or 1832 arrival
Thanks for any help..

You'll find a baptism at best, no birth records in 1831ish
All census look up transcriptions are Crown Copyright http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/

Sarah would have given the information in 1841.  She gave birth to the children so you would assume that she knew the order of birth and she has Samuel born between James and Richard.

Samuel has no idea how old he was.  1851 (19), 1861 (32), 1871 (46), 1881 (50), 1891 (56).

How is the parish burial worded in 1828?

I can see the transcription, but I wouldn't trust Ancestry as far as I can spit. ::)

Bit of an aside here. Jesper, do you have a Sarah Burrows in your tree born abt 1793 • Woodbridge Suffolk? Father John 1771 - 1857 born and died Woodbridge?
