Ethel Frances Norman. b Sep 1900 Fforestfach, Swansea.

Ethel married William Henry Ledster in March 1919 in Swansea. He remarried Annie Beresford in Jan 1943. Does anyone have any information on when she died, and also where she was in 1911, as she wasn't with her family who had moved to Bleangwynfi by then. Many thanks in advance if you can help.

Thanks for your replies. I'm beginning to agree with you, what's throwing me is that I can't find any deaths for an Ethel Ledster between the marriage in 1919 and his remarriage to Annie Beresford in 1943, I wouldn't have thought there was more than one William Ledster in the Swansea area. I'll just have to keep digging.  >:( >:(

I assume you don't have a copy of the 1943 marriage as that may state whether he was widowed / divorced.

I can't see Ethel in 1939

No I don't have a marriage certificate, but in the 1939 register they have William down as married, but the line above him is closed and blacked out. so I assume that it could have his wife. But there's no record fo her death before his remarriage. Very odd!

Electoral register for 1936/7 Register has William at 40 Gwynfor Road with Annie Williams and Henry M Stanley Williams. 

Presumably that is Annie nee Beresford who married William as Annie Williams

We really need to establish exactly who 'Ethel' was, could she also have been a widow when she married William Ledster.
