I can only see John mentioning to Bathonian that it is a good idea to tell us if he has posted something before and then Bathonian apologising as he had not remembered that he had previously posted about it. 

All good natured as far as I can see.  I certainly do not have a problem with the post being duplicated and I have spent some time on it today.  I did not recall that I had also posted on the earlier post but like John I do look at a lot of posts.

I think I've been convinced that Frances Ethel is not the correct person. I've been tracing William's tree really and was unable to find Ethel's death. I convinced myself that Frances Ethel was the correct person as they both lived in Fforestfach, within half a mile of each other. Sorry if I caused any sort of upset. I think we can close the case now, thanks for showing so much interest.

Hi, please hear me out before falling off your chair with laughter. It's a fact that an Elsie Norman married a William H Ledster in mq 1919 in Swansea. Now I have not come across this before but could the marriage have failed badly within a very short period of time and the marriage annulled. The following quarter in 1919 Swansea a Reginald S Eddy marries an Ethel Norman, she is also recorded as May. It would appear that they then went on to have 5 children between 1924-33. Ethel appears on 1939 register dob 1897. There is also a birth for an Ethel May Norman in the jq 1897. You can stop laughing now.

It sounds feasible, the only slight snag being that William gave his status in the 1939 register as being married. If only they hadn't redacted the third occupant, I could have seen whether it was his wife or a relative of the owners.

As William was regularly in the household of Annie on electoral registers before the 1939 register  then I suspect he was not with his wife long before 1939.  As we have said the solution is probably with the marriage of William and Ethel Norman

I 'm tending to agree with you. I think I'll write her off as a dead end, William was a great-uncle so not a direct descendant. Many thanks for your interest.
