Whose Grand daughter
« on: Monday 21 December 20 11:40 GMT (UK) »
Hello Hope you are all safe under the present conditions
I have a query that someone maybe able to assist with please
1901 Census    11 St Helens street Derby there is a Louisa Carrington DoB 1845  Hereford
Also two boarders and a Annie Meakin or Mickin DoB 1883
I think her parents are a Charles Meakin ?DoB 1856 Repton Derby and
Alice Meakin ?  DoB 1858 Hereford
The question is whose Granddaughter is she does she belong to a boarder or Louisa Carrington
If so what is the relation between Louisa Carrington and the Meakin s
Your thoughts on this most welcome

A bit more information Louisa Carrington a widow gave her surname as Johnson when marrying George Henry Carrington 1897 Derby  I think he dies soon after this

Thanks for taking the time to look at this

Regards Broadway

Just in case you don't have this..... :)

Louisa gives her father as William Evans at the time of her marriage in 1897

Louisa only became a Carrington in 1897 and was a Johnson by marriage (father - surname Evans)

In 1901 she was in the household of  George Carrington

Thank you so much everyone
Louisa Evans 1845  Tupsley Hereford
Father William Evans    Mother  Mary Pearce
1860 Louisa Married Charles Tinklin  He passed away 1868
1871 census saw her children in Hereford Workhouse   not sure where Louisa was cannot find her in this Census
1881 Census Louisa is in Derby with two of her remaining children Abraham Charles and a Mary Diana
Their surname is now given as Johnson   how did that come about I cannot find a marriage for Louisa and a Charles Johnson the supposedly ex Husband
Abraham Charles marriage certificate gives his Father as a Charles Johnson  deceased
This is where I have the problem a marriage of Louisa and Charles Johnson and the so called Grand daughter Annie Micken ??   as her Mother Alice also came from Hereford so what is the connection
slightly confusing
