There is a record of a burial for a Frederick William Scott Gatty on 28th April 1887.  Age given as 2 years and address is 49 Wells Place presumably in Camberwell.  The burial ground is stated as being of the parish of St. Giles, Camberwell in the County of Surrey, situate at Forest Hill Road, Peckham Rye.

There are no other family names mentioned in this record which is from Deceased Online.

Is the address one you have come across in your research?

I see from the 1891 census that a Martha Gatty is living at this address.  She is a widow born c1855 and occupation is charwoman, birth place given as Camberwell.

Is this lady the mother of Frederick or a relative?

The 1883 marriage has Martha as a spinster, full age, father is George (deceased), Builder.  Groom is Thomas William Aylott, full age, Engineer, father is William (deceased), Engineer.  17 December 1883, St George the Martyr.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Hey,

I don't think this Martha Gatty is likely to be relevant, as Frederick was born in late 1884, and therefore Martha would already have been Martha Aylott at that point - but thank you.

Could you link where you found this census? I haven't been able to find it myself, and it would be very helpful! Thanks.
