Dating and aging Chaim Wolf FELL please

Im not sure how good quality will be as I reduced to send photo sent by distant 'relative no one has original

He was born in 1861  ,,maybe in LATVIA or Ukraine I believe he emigrated to Uk and was there in 1908 when his son and grandchildren went to USA
No one seems to know when or where he died .

I realise it mught be harder to date as clothing not western style

How old do you think he looks ? could one of the women next to him  to be his wife ?

The woman at the back is wearing a pigeon-breast blouse
making it Edwardian & probably 1905-10.
It would appear that the woman on his left is his wife.

That would make him only 45 & ,he looks older to me
Or is it just the beard aging him  ?

Im working on theory that he is same man as Hyman chaim FELLMAN  parents Elizer Fellman and chave litvanchick b 1824
Maybe the old man in family photo is elizer

Both  Chaim Wolf  FELL and his wife Rachel.BORTEL born around 1845  latvia
Eldest daughters born 1877 youngest son b 1890
Grandchildren wide age range

Could it be earlier ?

 A lot of the children were in.USA by 1910 and may.have lived Uk first ....there were pograms in Russian Latvia.1890s

Could be that one - I guess he looks in his 60s - i.e. born 1845ish

(Reminds me of fashions in 'Fiddler on the Roof'      - so that would tie in with Jim's estimate of the date.)

  I agree tho don't remember what year fiddler on roof was set

 covering hair was/is important to some Jewish ladies .
 
I'd never heard of pigeon dress but it's evocative that lady looks more modern and children look like they are wearing party clothes

At least one of the daughters was a dressmaker so maybe ahead of her times and a trend setter
