To try and find links to Florence Kathleen Bush and Reginald Shute, I have researched her brother and sister and also there children to see if there was ever a mention of Florence, Reginald and there children (it does look like they had a few) Also to see if the parents George and Nellie were ever mentioned in any obituary.
When you re-read everything you will find that Mrs Reginald Shute lived with George and Nellie Bush in 1940/1945 (so George cannot have died by 1932)
So I am afraid the information the daughter gave on her marriage to Clifford Pointer was incorrect.
Canada Voters List 1963 did show - 348 Brock Street Kingston - George Bush (retired) - Nellie Bush
We have already found a wealth of information but sadly nothing on Florence and Reginald or a confirmation of the deaths of George and Nellie.
Perhaps if you email Kingston Frontenac Public Library giving as many details as you are able, they may be able top find obituaries for George Watson and Nellie Bush or even Florence and Reginald.
It is possible that Dorothy Violet Kathleen Bush may have knowingly or unknowingly presumed her father was dead. This was not uncommon.

On the Canada Ocean Arrivals Form (30A) it says her passage was paid by Dr Barnados Homes. She was going to Mr Hobday, Supt Of Barnados Homes Peterborough Ontario.
She was the granddaughter of Mrs Fox, 80 Hall Road, Lakenham. Norwich.
A UK return passenger list shows Dorothy V Bush - Dorothy V Bush born 1906 and aged 21 years. Departing Quebec and arriving Southampton England 6 July 1927 on the Empress of France.
She was a clerk. Going to 3 The Elms, Unthank Road, Norwich. Future intended residence :- England.
Have you contacted Dr Barnados ? They would have information on Dorothy in Canada. Her file would normally say if she had contact with her father.
