I do understand you don't have him after 1891 but the 1911 census for his parents asks for the number of children born to the marriage and asks how many of those are still living

That's the point I was trying to make to ascertain if he had passed away before 1911 or after.

Trish answered that in a shorthand way  ;D, so now we know he was alive in 1911

The only death I can find that fits age is Stockport, but that Harry has a good paper trail in Cheshire, so he's not the one.
Changed his name or emigrated perhaps
Berks / Oxon: Eltham, Annetts, Wiltshire (surname not county), Hawkins, Pembroke, Partridge
Dorset / Hants: Derham, Stride, Purkiss, Sibley
Yorkshire: Pottage, Carr, Blackburn, Depledge
Sussex: Goodyer, Christopher, Trevatt
Lanark: Scott (soldier went to Jersey CI)
Jersey: Fowler, Huelin, Scott

As you probably realise I am new to board and do not understand the "shorthand"
you say he was live in 1911 - would you be kind enough to explain please and are you able to give me where he was in 1911
Thanks

We don't have him in 1911.

The 1911 census asks "how many children born to the marriage and how many children are still living"

The census his parents filled in has this information.

If all children are living that would include Harry so we would know from that he was still alive at the time the 1911 census was filled in.

Hope that makes things clearer for you.
