1901 Leftovers: What about earlier censuses?

Received this per PM, but it's General Knowldge, so I shall repeat it here:

Bob,

The page/folio numbers start again from 1 at each enumeration district within the 1841 piece.

So:

Piece/ ED/ Folio /page    to have a unique ID.

The main thing is whether I can enter data from other years, in the "1901" format, just (if necessary) leaving some fields blank. Otherwise I would have to create a new database for each year, which is more work !!

If the 1901 format could be adapted (apart from anything else it might help avoid copyright issues)

For most of us any information easily and freely available and searchable is better than none.  If the reference is there, we can always find the rest of the information elsewhere. 

Most of us try to keep a copy of the page where our ancestors are and could easily transcribe appropriate bits of the rest of the page.

If there are almost 25000 rootschatters and everyone did a couple each--we could really make a good contribution

if any of you have transcriptions of other censuses, I could use a few from each year, just to try out how best to add them to the existing database.

I just need two or three from each year, so if anybody can help out please say so here, so that I don't get swamped !

Please make it very clear, which year they are from e.g. c1871_yourfilename.xls or something similar.

Haven't transcribed them yet Bob! But I will do a few from any year you want if you need them, just let me know.

At the moment I have none at all, so anything will do !!

The main thing is to see if they will fit in the present format.
The obvious exception will be "Birthplace" for 1841 but a simple Yes or No in this column, as if the heading was "Born within County" would do.
