Had to remove the name as she may still be alive.

That is interesting. I can see that from a photo I have taken that there are some consular buildings in that street today. Where would I find consular records? He did give my mother, his cleaner a  beautiful black lacquered clock he brought back from overseas.

The death info is available on Scotlands People but you would have to buy some credits. The minimum is 7.50 for 30 credits. To look & download the entry is 6 credits.

You will be able to view his birth and marriage in the Scotlands People Index not the full details for either. Birth records are not available to view online for 100 years and marriage records for 75 years. You would have to purchase these at a cost of approximately £12.00 each.

However his Consular Death Certificate is available to view for a few credits as Kloumann has said.

Having a few spare credits I took a look at it for you.

He died on 22/5/1969 at Bluff Road, Natal aged 37. Shipmaster born in Edinburgh. Normal residence 3 Muirpark, Eskbank. No further relevant info given such as his parents or wife.

This is indeed very exciting for you. Just a wee word of caution if you don't mind. Ancestry trees are great but please make sure you get your own proof that the information is correct.

Can I go back for a moment to the Electoral addresses you gave at the beginning to clear something up for me -

1954 - 5 Windsor Street - Roy is on his own. How sure are you of this address?

The others you listed - 13 Menton Terrace, 16 Cumin Place and 2 Oswald Road - These entries have a lady also listed and it is not the name of the lady he married in 1956.
