any help with this I would be so grateful as its doing my head in

On her marriage cert mum and dad are William Allan and Mary Tod/Todd

Does it give William's occupation ?
Might help identify Mary Allan on the 1841/1851 Census.

Not all baptisms were recorded and not all records survive. The baptism you have found may well be for a different person. Her death certificate will also give her parents' names as a check. Also if you find her in a census from 1851 onwards, it will tell you the parish she was born in.

You say “could she have put the wrong names on her second marriage cert?   Was her first marriage before 1855?

Yes She Married a Peter Merry in 1850 and I found her on the 1851 census age 19 so born about 1832
and on her  second marriage 1890 age 54 so born about 1836. and on  census born in Muirkirk Ayrshire living in Coatbridge with her husband and younger brother William  (Her Father was a Pudder same as her first husband)

James widowed by 1851 , with daughter Margaret , seems to be living in the same area as Mary and her husband Peter , occupation matches as well , birthplace Muirkirk Ayr -
