Hello I'm looking for John Watson and his family. He married Mary ann marriott daughter of Robert marriott in 1878 they lived in Sheffield my great grandmother was Edith Watson born 1886 I done searches but there's only one census with them on. John Watson father was John too but it seems there's a lot of John Watson in Sheffield it's so mind boggling.. Any help would be great but would love info on both sides I tried to find rober marriott wife too I know Mary ann was down as being born Ashfield thank you

I've found what looks like the family on 1881 before Edith was born

Living at Tapton House Road, Ecclesall Bierlow, Yorkshire

Plus one son John H 1880 and one daughter Mary A 1881 both born Sheffield

I've found a marriage between a Robert Marriott and a Mary Stevenson at Alfreton, Derbys on 27 March 1843.  Fathers William Marriott and Enoch Stevenson.

Robert's birth year is given as 1818 and Mary's as 1823, both single.

Thank you all yes that's one census I found though I'm told Mary ann left John after Edith was born or bit after and lived with someone called Buxton so maybe that's why I cart find them together

In 1891, John senior (38) is with wife Mary A. (42) and daughter Mary (10) still in Tapton Hill Road, Ecclesall Bierlow.
No sign of the other children.
