Another vaccination scam
« on: Monday 25 January 21 21:37 GMT (UK) »
My daughter just had an email telling her she is eligible for a Covid vaccination. The email address was apparently no-reply@nhs.gov.uk - when she hovered over it a foreign address showed up. There was a link which she didn't click.

According to Facebook this is now doing the rounds.

We got one of those. Couldn't see real email address until we printed it. Had a Chinese sounding name in the email address. The link site looked very realistic - just like a government web page. First page asked for date of birth, mobile number, mother's maiden name. Alarm bells rang when the second page asked for bank details. Reported to the police and forwarded the email to them. Had only just asked about the vaccine in the doctor's in the morning and the email came in the afternoon, which made me think it was in response to that.

Just got this scam email from NHS UK? ref, SCCOFDOWASK. Only addressed to my email number & no name. None of the links work & press "confirm" if I want this, so haven't.

Puzzled,
Skoosh.

Advice here... https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/reporting-fraud-and-cyber-crime
Or, just forward phishing scams to... report@phishing.gov.uk

p.s. I get my vaccination - at the doctor's surgery tomorrow!  ;D
