Looking on A* there are a number of deaths in Hexham for william charlton.  Mine is actually William Thomas born 1811. def died between 1851 and 1861.

The only William Charlton buried at Hexham Cemetery between the dates you mention was a farmer aged 75 and was buried 7th June 1861.

Where was your William living in 1851? Hexham was a very large Registration District - there are many other places where he could have been buried.

Now not sure it was Hexham. Am looking back at notes made years ago. Not sure why thought that was him.


But in 1851 was in Gateshead , widower with son Thomas. Wife died 1845 Percy main. Thomas 1861 in Percy main with grandparents


Thanks for checking anyway. There are a number of tynemouth deaths may be one of those.

Thanks yes those are the census. All sorted there.  Ann not wife but sister.  Sorted that years ago.
