I have a Percy Moulding Lee b1896 Preston Lancashire on 1901 census he is listed as son to Peter and Sarah Lee, on the 1911 census he is listed as foster son to Peter Lee (Sarah passed away after 1901 census)
Is he a Lee or a Moulding a biological son or foster son, there is a Percy Molding born 1896 to an Effie Molding possible same area can't find the connection

Born 1894 not 1896.  Buying a copy of his birth cert will give his mothers name

In 1901 - Sarah Lee was 56 & Peter 61.  Percy was born Moulding - not Lee

Spent too much on other certificates have to use free sights for the moment have to wait to order in a couple of months sort of confirms what I was thinking but need proof
Not figured out the relationship albeit they Effie, Peter and Sarah lived near St Barts Salford

I went on Familysearch looking for Ettie Molding - only one came up = as Esther Molding

do you think this might be her - b 1880 - it would mean the baby was born when she was 14 -15 , which might explain why Percy is a Foster son in 1901 census ??...just a thought

There is a baptism record on Familysearch for son Percy Molding son of Ettie Molding spinster it has birth date and baptism date and it occurred in St Bartholmew Salford which is where Peter Lee and Sarah had their kids baptised.
The only problem now is who is Ettie Molding not found birth for Ettie an unusual  name

Percy Moulding b 1894  57 Avenham Lane, Preston ....as on the baptism record - so - although baptised in St Peters Salford , Ettie lived in Preston .
Do you think if she was 14 / 15 - the baby was born in a single mums Home in Salford and adopted straight away ?  - people did this out of "shame " - sent the prospective mum out of their own enviroment so no neighbours knew of the birth ??... I suppose we will never know - but all those records fit together ...Ettie Moulding is quite a rare name -

I would say you are pretty well on the right track - mmm - maybe if I can track her down in one of the single womens homes
in the meantime will document her as being born in Dalton until proved incorrect

In 1891 3441/73  there is a large family living at 11 Beech Street Preston

Thomas H Moulding 49 yrs Bookkeeper b Oxford
Mary A 44yrs b Witney Oxfordshire and several children b Buckinghamshire and Lancashire

One son is Thomas Percy Moulding b abt 1877

There is also a daughter Ethel B Moulding 17 yrs b Cuddington, Bucks.
I wonder if she could be Ettie.

Percy Moulding Lee reverts to his Moulding surname on marriage.
