Great stuff. What a star you are  :)  So we have the three baptisms and names (John. James and Hugh) mentioned in the original post.

Yipee.  :) :)

Might be nice if the original poster does come back to the thread.

Started wondering why the poster had not checked that Scotland marriage in 1918 to see who John Burnett listed as his parents.  Looking again at the Burnett family returning to Canada in 1920, John Burnett has a totally different birth year to the other John Burnett who married Catherine ONeill.
John Burnett signs the Canada Ocean arrivals form 30A for Catherine Burnett.  Date of arrival 14 May 1920. Grandmother given as Mrs Annie Burnett, 13 Bellies Brae, Kirriemuir.

1901 Scotland Census 68 Roads St Kirriemuir, Forfarshire.

Parish Kirriemuir  ED 2 Page 5 Line 11

John Burnett   37
Annie Burnett   37
William Burnett   13
John Burnett   8
Annie Burnett   5
David Burnett   3
Maggie Burnett   1
