Here in Dorset, in our local paper today, 76% of fines for breaking lockdown were issued to people from out of County. It’s not surprising there was a spike in Covid19 here after Christmas.

I saw that the rates had gone up a lot in Dorset, even in the more inland rural area where I'm from and I still have rellies.

Did it say how far out of county some had come from? Long distance travel particularly from a much  higher infection area is the real danger.

They didn’t specify in the latest report, but a couple of weeks ago the police were questioning people in a packed beach car park close to where I am. One lot had come from Newcastle after camping in Wales, they were the going on to London. They obviously thought that lockdown didn’t apply to them.

I can’t believe the leniency , I know the accident although in a way was caused by the rescuer having to be there where the two idiots were, they did not actively push him but they were the reason for him going out and contributing to their rescue.
What deterrent is£100?
Thousands of people ,even millions will be going about muttering “ We are too ——-  soft !”and they will be right!

And I worry about whether I'm allowed out of my village to get a take away now that our local pub closed down last Sunday with only three days notice.

The problem is that is all they were allowed to fine them, they could only fine them for breaking covid rules, nothing else. I agree though, the fines for breaking the rules should be much tougher e.g £1000 and no option for a reduction if you pay quickly!

And tougher for repeat offenders, I think it just doubles.

And I send things, books etc to tiddler great grandson, via my daughter his Nanny,  so she isolates them in their closed business and his Daddy picks them up after the requisite time.
My son will call tomorrow or Saturday with a bit of fresh shopping, left on the step does not come in.
He is not well, Specialist consultation on Friday ,even Christmas Day he and his wife called but stayed outside, he won’t come in with the shopping .
No Christmas hugs or kisses ,in fact none since before  the first lockdown.,and then idiots like those two can endanger other’s lives.
It does make me angry, not for me,but for workers and volunteers who put their lives on the line.

Reports that the injured rescuer will be wheelchair-bound for the rest of his life.
