I've been searching for a marriage between George and Mary...unsuccessfully! However, in the 1851 census it appears that Mary Housley has married Jonathan Allen!

Jonathan Allen 7-Coal Miner-b 1777-Wales
Mary -Wife born 1810 Yorkshire
Jonathan-son born 1846-Ecclesfield
David- son born 1849-Ecclesfield
Henry Housley-son-in-law-unmarried- born 1832-Sheffield
All at Mortomley Lane end, Wortley, Yorks>>>>>>

Found the marriage now-Jonathan Allen marries Mary Houseley Q3 1841 , Wortley District.

How bizarre!
Thank you.
I’ll look into those and see if I can spot a connection between Ann Carr (grandfather Jonathan allin)’s mother in law, sarah howsley, and these howsleys.
Interestingly, Ann and her further husband jeremiah sorsby only live a few doors apart in 1841. SoSarah howsley willhave known Jonathan allin and Mary howsley nee hallam.
Thank you djm and bumbleb.
