Hobbitt,

I'm afraid you would have to look it up on a pay site, such as 1837online.

There, you can look up the complete indexes for births, marriages and deaths from 1837 through 2003.

You will be able to search for the marriage, if you're interested in it, quarter by quarter (1 credit for each image you look up/download).
Same for the births. Fortunately, for the time frame you are interested in, it will give you the mother's maiden name. So if you find a birth for an Ablett you'll see right away if it's a match or not. With 50 credits, you should be able to look up around 10 years. (Given that one name may occasionally be on several pages)

Hope this helps - Good luck.

Tanja   :)

Also, if you find out that the child was a boy (as I understand, you are trying to make contact) then I suggest you look him up on recent electoral rolls, ie at 192.com. If it's a girl, you might have to search for a marriage first...

Hi tanja thanks for the help you gave me I think i have found the person I was looking for thanks to you.  I will have to seriously think what to do next as the person concerned is 71 years old.   May write a letter to them when I can drum up the courage
