Where do you have him as a Plumber?

1850 Chelsea, London, marriage registration William Brown and Hannah Blackall; they are together in the 1851 Census and in the 1861 census they have Brown children whose births are registered at the GRO with mother's maiden name Blackall.

About a week ago, someone on RootsChat looked it up and told me, "The marriage of son William Brown, occupation plumber, shows his father is also William Brown, plumber."

My problem is, I can find no sources pre-1850 for ANY William Brown, occupation Plumber.

1851 shows William Brown b Bugbrook Northants.  I think that's about 30 miles away from Higham Ferrers
