If Thomas Jones the farmer is the father of Thomas Jr then who is the 35-year old Thomas living with him also? Thomas Jr was already married by that point and is living with wife and child.

I think the best thing you can do GenesA is find Thomas Jr's baptism. Which church did the family use? I'm assuming it was Bagillt if he married Margaret and Sarah there.

Thomas Jr used Bagillt for marriages but he and his wives are buried at Halkyn.

Have you a baptism for Thomas Jr?

I've checked the Holywell baptisms but none around that date with a father named Thomas, farmer. Neither  marriages say if Thomas snr is dead.

Added - non-conformist records have a Thomas son of Thomas and Jane. Born 9th Feb 1810 of Gronant, Llanasa. bpt 11th Feb at Newmarket. No occupation given. Don't think that this fits birthplace though!

Note that the marriage to Sarah does not say that Thomas, snr is dead.  It's not always given but ......

Also, the older Thomas would have been in his 50s when Thomas was born, whereas the younger one would have been in his 40s.

Possible baptisms at Holywell parish. I've highlighted the ones I would consider to be most likely.

16 November 1810, Thomas son of Thomas and Ann Jones. Abode was Holywell.

9 December 1810, Thomas son of Thomas and Mary Jones. Abode was Brynford.

12 February 1813, Thomas son of Thomas and Mary Jones. Abode was Coleshill, father was a miner.

30 October 1816, Thomas son of Thomas and Sarah Jones. Abode was Holywell, father was a butcher.

I agree with you Gadget. I think the marriage cert. would probably say if Thomas Sr was dead.

I think the son is Thomas Jones, not William. It's very faded though and I'm not sure.
