There are only a few years of the Ashton under Lyne Reporter online from the 1860s.
Tameside Archives and Local Studies have copies of the newspapers on film if you are able to visit. They are closed at the moment.

To be honest I’d forgotten that there were some of the Visiter online. I presume you’ve looked for the marriage already as you knew the Visiter was online.

There is no indication when our libraries will reopen so hopefully by the time they open you will have the actual marriage date to make searching easier.

Sadly, so far, the BNA only have access to Southport titles covering 1886 and 1889. Until 1883 is placed on-line, access to local archive microfilm (assuming it exists) might be the only option.

Yes the Southport Visitor is very definitely filmed and in our library, it’s just they’re closed at the moment. A date of the marriage would help rather than ploughing through 3 months of papers.

Holy Trinity Southport registers are at Lancashire Archives.

A few more Southport Visiter pages have been added but not the ones I need. 1883 is programmed for release which is good to know.
