Normally when I look at BMDs on this site, I click on "image" and the image appears on my screen. Today it's downloading the image to my computer! (This is awkward because I don't want most of these images - just to look and discount them).

Anyone else had this happen?

It happens to me when I try to view images on my mobile phone - for some reason the files don't play nice when I try to view them with my PDF viewer, I have to download them to see them.

Haven't had the issue on desktop, though.

Appears to be working normally this morning on my laptop and desktop.

Thanks, both of you for your replies.

Still sends the image to "downloads" instead of to the screen.

I think it may be something tbat's changed in my settings - having trouble with another site too. I'll have to investigate further. (at least I now know it's ME!)

It does it on my Sony tablet when clicking to see the information but not my laptop?

Try a different browser. I use chrome on a desktop, win 10, with no problem.

I only use my desktop for fh research.

To view a PDF, or to download it, is a browser option.  You don't say which browser you are using, but look for settings in browser.   The option will be under "applications" or maybe "filetypes" ....

jc26red -Unfortunately we share a laptop, and OH gets twitchy if any changes are made!

I've a feeling that it must be something that one of us has inadvertently ticked  (and probably ticked "don't ask me again")

My previous computer I had to download files to view them, I used chrome on a desktop, win 10.
My new computer allows me to view images online, I'm using chrome on a desktop, win 10.

It wasn't only the Irish BMD image files, FreeBMD also.
