             It may not apply in this case, but when I was a kid, shoes were always bought bigger than

   the size you needed. As kids can grow very quickly the saying was " he'll soon grow into them"

    Same with clothes. Many clothes were also hand me downs.

Tomkin, Thanks so much for your version of Grandma in vibrant colours. I think it has a Christmas feel now.
