PS - I've noticed  that the last match in a max compare list is allocated a mauve/purple colour in the chromosome browser.

I just did a random one to many, using maximum cases(7)  to compare. Is this example similar to what you have?

HI Gadget ,

Unfortunately no, it isn't, it's the same bright purple as used elsewhere on the sight.  the annoying thing is that it knows what it is.    Evidenced by the pop-up text that says it is a Group Shared Segment and all the place nos[ start and finish] the rsID and the cM and SNIPS.

Sometimes there is only one segment others several. a while ago i got one come up with two in the one chromosome no.placed directly one above the other and same details for each. it s quite odd.

I have recerive a bit of help on getting the image into a .png format so .. I;ll gig it a go.

I wonder if it's something new they're introducing. I've noticed the ethnicity profile of matches has changed its format.

Do the comparison separately with each match and see what comes up for that segment.

I'm just wondering if it's this feature and they've now marked it in a different colour:

Quote
Segments that seem to be shared by three or more people are not necessarily triangulated. For example, if you compare yourself with two people, call them A and B, you may see that you share a segment with A and you share a segment at the same genomic position with B, but A and B may not match each other on that segment. That’s because you may be sharing your maternal segment with A and your paternal segment with B and A and B aren’t related to each other at all.
If a match is shown as triangulated, it means that you, A, and B, all match each other precisely on that segment, and therefore all of you are probably related, and you probably got that triangulated segment from the same common ancestor.

Hi Gadget and Flemming,

It must be something new as it is somewhat inconsistent.  I have noticed that once it comes in, it stays. It is better to make a note of it and clear the deck and then try the repeats.

I have had three sets of matches tonight with these Group Shared Segments.  It would be really interesting if they told one what it signifies and why. I am finding that it really does align with the ethnic background of the individuals.

One group is basically Scandinavian and the other North Eastern European. That was interesting.

Could it possibly be a way of showing how the whole group is connected. That would show any shared segments between any one in the group. Not just them to me.

I think I've done enough out-of-the-box thinking....

added:  I think it might be a gadget has posted but it goes further than that asI get parts that aren't previously shownin the one to many usual results. Essnell.
