So logically,  try to trace these kids through their lives, seeing which if any, served in the armed forces at the right time

Died in WW2,  so couldn't have fathered a child in the 1950s

Jack was Jacob in 1920

I see some of the other brothers used their middle names or anglicised names by 1940

Nathan /Harry Solomon/ all potential candidates

Do you know who they may be related to on your side and where she was living around time of conception

Roberts,Fellman.Macdermid smith jones,Bloch,Irvine,Hallis Stevenson

Absolutely not, given that he appears with the family in 1930.

Could the second entry down be the passing of Isidore's father Phillip Schulman?

I guess I could have been a bit more clear... ::) (joking eye-roll)

Name:  Philip Schulman
Age: 50
Born: Russia
Spouse: Bessie
Death date:  6 Jun 1937
Death place:  Brooklyn, Kings, New York, United States

Everything looks correct except this Phillip is a tailor-presser in 1937 and the the one from the 1930 census was listed as "operator" business: awnings. He could have changed professions...

I believe that all the info given is correct as we had managed to see the census. The only reason we went with Isidore Schulman was he was the youngest, but on reflection I suppose some of the older brothers could have had sons of an age who may have gone into the United States Airforce. The year 1959/60 is the crucial timescale at an East Anglian American base. I think that in conclusion the only way we would ever find him is through a military record that shows a Schulman was over here in that time scale which I imagine is virtually an impossibility so Thank you all for your help but I suppose it will have to be one of those really annoying mysteries.
