Incidentally, all children (4) of the first marriage with  Sarah, had their births registered in the surname ANDERSON.

The son Herbert MOORE in his affidavit (Probate record) says his father Edwin was born in London.

WW1 Army file for Herbert MOORE had a couple of versions of his Attestation -- but if you look at the one at Image 19, (it's very faint) says his mother born NZ and gives her maiden name (hard to decipher ?)   I can't say who this Sarah (nee PELHAM) was, although eldest daughter  Elizabeth has a further forename "Eaton" which may or may not connect with a chap Thomas Eaton PELHAM in NZ records ??    Maybe you don't need all this superfluous info though ?   ;D

Hi Ian ... our posts crossed.   :D

See my latest re: the children of Edwin and Sarah (as surname ANDERSON).

Have some thoughts on the Plot at Kimbolton too ... will add shortly.

McKha ... they had a daughter named "Annie" (ANDERSON) born 1885 ... pretty sure she was  still alive after 1904 and mentioned under her married name in Will of Edwin MOORE.
    ???

Added :  Edwin MOORE's Will was dated shortly after death of wife # 2 in 1938.  Daughter Annie mentioned as (Mrs) RATTENBURY.

Just a bit odd that death shows  on ancestry as forename "Sarah" (twice)  ???

Thanks guys.

With a bit of searching managed to find a tree on Ancestry. Appears Edwin's biological mother was Elizabeth ANDERSON, who married a Thomas MOORE here in NZ in 1862. No mothers surname for Edwin on the GRO website. Looks like he has eventually taken his stepfather's surname.

Can't find a birth for Sarah PELHAM in 1862. Thomas James Eaton PELHAM was born 1878.

Mangarimu on electoral rolls is not very far from Peep o' Day in the funeral notice. A few kilometres north of Kimbolton.

Ian C

EDIT
Just noticed Elizabeth ANDERSON's mother was Sarah Ann EATON.

Oh ... hadn't even got around to looking at "trees".   :D

Kimbolton Burial record for Sarah MOORE - I'm guessing the "M.S." alongside of MOORE might mean "memorial stone" ???

Whomever transcribed the record, has also added  (sic) to the year of 1906 - probably after they'd noted the date recorded (1904) on the headstone ?
