Mention in newspapers too, of the bowling green being 'about to be hemmed in by buildings on grounds of Westfield'.

 Thank you Ruskie and Scotmum.  Kia ora from new Zealand. Great information  also on the location of the original bowling club. My parents and grandparents lived in the sandstone buildings on Mary Street and I remember playing in the back green in  the late 1950's .  The railway line was at the end of the block of houses.  From the information provided by Scotmum it looks like the sandstone buildings were constructed a little before or around 1900.
