I've seen this before. And I seem to remember it coming to nothing, but that was many years ago and I have totally forgotten.

Yes: John Dyke and Rachel Hale married in Charlbury in 1838, you can find them in the 1851 census in Charlbury with son John aged 10 born Witney.
