Somerset, England Parish Records pre-1600 John Kent

Looking for birth and family records for John Kent who was born around 1575.  His father was a tailor from Kenton, Somerset.  John went on to be a tailor in London.

Are you sure Kenton is in Somerset?  Google is suggesting that it is in Devon?

I agree its Devon but there is a Keinton Mandeville in Somerset.

Well, no way to be 100% sure, but when he joined the Merchant Taylors Company to begin his apprenticeship, he registered as son of John, tailor, Kenton, Somerset.  It's probably near the shire border.  Per Wikipedia it's a tiny town who gets its fire dept service from both Dover and Somerset.

Kenton in Devon is no-where near the border with Somerset. However FindMyPast has some  Kent family records  from the villages around Keinton Mandeville dating back to the late 16th/early 17th century-none for  John Kent though.
"Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service" covers both counties.

The link you have given for Kenton does not mention -  t's a tiny town who gets its fire dept service from both Dover and Somerset. as mentioned in your post.  That information is relevant to Keinton Mandeville as posted by KG.

Perhaps if you can give us some information on his son John who was living in London occ Tailor. Who did he marry, where and when. What were the names of their children with approximate date / places of birth so we can try to go backwards to the John you are after.
