Hi Colin. Many thanks for the responses. I do believe the older gentleman in the picture adjacent to John McIntyre is indeed that person in the census, Thomas Moore. He is not related as far as I know. I am hoping the museum can answer the question.  I believe the heavy-set lady to the right in black is William McIntyre's wife based on a picture I have seen recently.

cheers, Marc

I note that Thomas Moore was indeed with the family in 1891.

MCINTYRE   JOHN   1891   M   62   553/2 1/ 12   Kilbride   Bute

MOORE   THOMAS   1891   M   82   553/2 1/ 12   Kilbride   Bute

There are two Thomas Moore’s on the 1881 census, one in Fife, the other below, which may be connected to John McIntyre’s wife?

1881 Dwelling: St Cuthbert Cottage, Sorn, Ayrshire
Thomas   MOORE   Head   M   75   M   Bleacher In Bleaching Works   Sorn, Ayr, Scotland
Elizabeth   MOORE   Wife   M   65   F                                         Muirkirk, Ayr, Scotland

MOORE   ELIZABETH   66   Mmn MCCRONE   1882   death   Sorn

Hi Colin. Is it possible he is tied to the family? Maybe. Johns' wife, Janet- her maiden's name was Taylor.
