Army Record delay

Hi all

I applied for my grandad's army records last May. The web site states that there may be a delay due to Covid but as I received no reply by February I applied again.

To this date I've received nothing and my cheques haven't been cashed.

Is this normal?

Unfortunately records are taking around a year to arrive thanks to Covid delays.
Howard , Viney , Kingsman, Pain/e, Rainer/ Rayner, Barham, George, Wakeling (Catherine), Vicary (Frederick)   all LDN area/suburbs  Ottley/ MDX,

Worth remembering that welfare enquiries - pensions of living dependants and the like - take priority.

I’ve just posted about this before I saw this question. I’ve just heard back from the office that deals with the records. They have only just returned to the office and have a huge backlog of paper records to deal with so, basically, can give no idea how long it will take. Here is the link where you’ll see what they wrote to me.
