Those are the right people. Interesting that John and Elizabeth Lyle married May 30, 1853 as per irishgenealogy but the newspaper clipping of their 50th quotes the marriage date as June 6. I didn't have a marriage date for Robert Hamilton Shegog and I don't find it on irishgenealogy so perhaps wedding not in Ireland.

Still looking for which one of Eliza Watterson nee Shegog's brothers was in Australia in 1918. But I did find her sister Margaretta Woods Clarke nee Shegog. She married Isaac Clarke in Belfast in 1908. As close as I can calculate, she was approx. 28 years older than him - I know, I couldn't believe it either. He was 21, she was abt 49. They went to Australia, where it appears that she had 2 children despite her age in 1912 and 1915. Then she is in Victoria, BC in 1918 and Isaac joins her in Aug 1919, after his stint in the Australian Forces. She is back in Australia in 1921 where she dies Nov 17, 1922 and is buried in Bonoondara General Cemetery in Kew, Bonoondara, Victoria, Australia.

Very sad about the death of John Sandilands. The obit helped fill in the tree a bit . Tillie’s age is vastly wrong. I’ve been working on seeing which brother went to Australia.

These articles on the Sandilands family are great. Thank you so much RJ137. They really help and we now know which Shegog brother was in Africa (mentioned in Eliza Watterson's obit in 1918). That leaves George or Samuel that went to Australia, thinking George. We know that John Shegog stayed in Ireland.
Thanks again
