Bridget Houlihan (Houlahan) born Mallow, Cork abt. 1835

Hello from Australia,   My 2xgr.Grandmother Bridget Houlihan possibly spelled Houlahan was born in Mallow, Cork abt. 1835 according to info. on D.C.  She emigrated to Australia possibly with sister
Catherine date unknown.  She married in Sydney in 1856. Her parents were John Houlahan and Mary Sullivan.  It is possible she and her sister emigrated alone without parents.  No emigration records located as yet.


I am trying to trace this family in Ireland.  My question is:  where would I look in church records for a baptism in Mallow, Cork? (possibly Catholic records) Thankyou.

Thanks Debra,   I do not know anything of the areas of Mallow which may have been relevant in 1835.
I presume Catholic parishes were limited to just a few at that time.  That is why I am looking for
guidance here to narrow the field down.

  Thanks Wivenhoe, No, not correct marriage.   DC records born Cork, 1835, 52 years in colony.
   A family researcher has advised me that the place of birth was Mallow, Cork.   I have all the info.
   I need after her arrival in Aust. Am looking to trace her family before her arrival in Aust.

If her name on a marriage certificate is the earliest confirmed evidence you have so far that your Bridget ever existed, you need to see this document.
