Wow so his nationality is now reportedly swiss.

These finds are incredible.

Now i need to work out if he was from switzerland or Germany as records suggested Germany. Any pointers?

Can t be too sure newspapers get everything right, he appears fairly consistently to put Bayreuth, Germany as his birth place in the censuses. Perhaps his parents were from Switzerland.
Very sad he fell on hard times after an interesting life.
Hopefully someone else on Rootschat might have more help regarding his family in Germany.
Might be worth putting a post (mentioning this post /or what has been found already so people don t search for info already found ) on the Europe board.

in the 1500's there are many Trautner in a village named Pegnitz Germany
here is an example
there is a Gorg in this family - a little bit for you to research

https://gw.geneanet.org/hansik1?lang=en&p=johannes&n=trautner

a better tree gives wifes maiden name - born 1500 in Pegnitz

https://gw.geneanet.org/hansik1?lang=en&p=hans&n=trautner&oc=5

ADDED - same location - Bayreuth

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pegnitz_(town)

ADDED
Fritz Trautner b 1421 - unknown - but married in Pegnitz 1448 - 1st born Hans 1450 .....
the tree owner lives in - believe it or not PEGNITZ - so the family have been there 600 years = 1421 - 2021 - sadly he only speaks German - if you want his contact home address let me know ..

Hi there I am really stuck and wondered if anyone can help me.

I have an ancestor who's name is Louis Pankratz Trautner, born in Bayreuth Germany in 1824. I believe from his wedding certificate his dad was a farmer called Georg(e) Trautner. I cant for the life of me find out anything about George(e)
................................................................
make a note of this chap - right age and area
..................................................................
Georg Trautner
Born about 1794 in Bruderes Berk, Oberfranken, Bavariamap
ANCESTORS ancestors
Son of Peter Trautner and Barbara Hedler
[sibling(s) unknown]
....................................................
Bruderes Berk to Pegnitz is 10 miles - both in Bayreuth

sorry- wrong man - didn't marry until 1830 -
Husband of Kunigunda (Braumin) Trautner — married 7 Jan 1830 in Siedwitz, Creussen, Oberfranken, Bavaria.... I would make a note of him anyway in case he pops up at a later date - OR - KUNIGUNDA IS HIS second WIFE - He would have been 36 at the marriage ?  - I am making this harder for you ....lol...
Cruessen to Pegnitz is 8 miles ...on a second look - there is a chance it may be your Georg if it is his second marriage ???
