Possible marriage or banns:

Millia KIDD/David HERD
14/12/1849
282/230 299
Dundee

Can't see anything for them so far in 1851  :-\

ADDED: SP have both these indexed with the same ref of 282/ 29/ 39 - Dundee:

David Herd 21
Amelia Herd 22

FreeCen don't have this entry on their transcript and A/try have these entries not linked and transcribed as follows:

Daivd Heed, 27, Spinny Mill Sanbudler b. Dundee
Amelia Heed, 22
Address: Scouring Burn, Dundee

Find my Past have them as Head and David's age as 21.

Wow!  Want to thank everyone who replied.  The Wills are interesting and its amazing how much extra information you gathered about their departing on the ship to Australia and then to New Zealand.  THANK YOU SO MUCH. ;) ;)
I am most fortunate as someone living in New Zealand has doctored up my files so they read much better.   Thank you again.

I am a relative of David Herd & I am doing the family tree.  James Blair Herd was David Herd's father.
David Herd that married Hellen (Ellen) Kidd 1828 - 1909 and they had their first daughter Margaret in Scotland, before leaving from Liverpool on the Ticonderoga and landing in Melbourne on 22 December 1852.
Their second child John was born in Collingwood, Victoria and then they moved to New Zealand, landing in Nelson in December 1854.
Here is a list of their children:
Margaret Herd – 1852 – 1866
John Herd – 1854 – 1939
Ann Herd – 1856 – 1907
Elizabeth Herd – 1858 – 1863
David James Herd – 1860 – 1936
Hellen Herd – 1863 – 1931
William Henry Herd – 1865 – 1931
Alexander Palmer Herd – 1868 – 1925
Margaret Herd – 1871 – 1937 (the second Margaret Herd)
Thomas Riddell Herd – 1872 – 1956
Arthur Penrose Herd – 1874 – 1960

I am a descendant of Alexander Palmer Herd.
David Herd was the first person to grow wine in Marlborough.
Let me know if you would like more information.

Kindest regards
Carol
