Query on death certificate from Egypt
« on: Friday 02 July 21 21:21 BST (UK) »
Hi i have just received a death certificate from GRO regarding a death in Cairo, Egypt and there is no cause of death on it, it just gives informant name, address and says Public Health Department Certificate dated 5/1/1937? can anyone please explain what that means and if there is anyway I could find out cause of death? thank you.

You may have come across the above Link already, and it's a long shot whether it has any further useful information for You.

I assume the recorded information on the GRO Certificate, was taken from the Public Health Department (Notice of Death?) Certificate, dated 5/1/1937 in Egypt, and this original was produced as evidence for compilation of the UK Record. Perhaps the cause, and date of death, was not recorded on the Egyptian Certificate.
