Help with an immigration record please
« on: Thursday 08 July 21 04:53 BST (UK) »
Susannah Meddins Davies born 1832 in the Montgomeryshire of Wales, daughter of William Davies and Ursilla (Ursula) nee Meddins.

I have her on the 1841 census with her widowed mother and siblings & the 1851 Census with her mother and stepfather Richard Humphreys.

Susannah married on 10 October 1854 at St Nicholas Church in Liverpool,Lancaster, I have the certificate -  states she married Robert Jones (Draper) both of full age, Fathers John Jones (Bootmaker) & William Davies (Plumber)
Witnesses Ursula Humphries  John Meddins.

I have an Australian Death index   Susan Meddings Jones, Birth year 1832, age 23. Death & Reg place Victoria, Father William Davies and Mother Ursula Meddings . Reg no 2339.

I have no info on her husband Robert Jones.

My questions are,   if anyone can help -  when they immigrated to Australia and where they were buried, I have tried to find these records to no avail.

Thanking you in anticipation

Judy

Hi there,

The information on the actual death registration could be helpful to you.  Here's a thread with useful info re Vic BDM records.
https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,373754.0.html

ADD
https://www.bdm.vic.gov.au/research-and-family-history/search-your-family-history    The $20 option is downloadable straight away and is a good option.  The reference number is 2339/1855, so they were in Victoria by 1855.

Well, this is a possible for their arrival.
Indian Queen. Departed Nov 1854 bound for Melbourne. Departed Liverpool.
Poor quality page!
I can see the abbreviation for Robert in his name, but I am not sure about it as the occupation is joiner ???

Underneath I see Mrs Jones

Can you find Robert on 1841 census?
It would be helpful to have something more than "full age" in 1854 as his  birthdate!

What other information is on the death certificate, 25 April 1855?.

What name do you see for informant?.  Is there a residential address for the deathplace?.
