Only 4 stamps were issued with King Edward VIII:
1/2d Green
1d Red
1 1/2d Brown
2 1/2d Blue

King Edward is pictured facing left.
The crown is separate and offset into the top right-hand corner.

Monarchs on coins always alternate facing left  or right - I don't know why. I remember that  both George V and George VI faced left because there was a monarch inbetween, even though only test coins were struck.

I don't know if this was a rule on stamps which have only been around for a few reigns, and you never saw those featuring earlier monarchs, unlike the coins - even Victorian pennies.

Like any other commodity, stamps are/were worth whatever someone was prepared to pay for them.

Possibly your local library may have Stanley Gibbons catalogues - where stamps are given a value.

very interesting fact
so the stamps should also face same way
im thinking the portrait was maybe madewhen he was prince regent and no stamps were ever produced once he was king

actually vague on this . was he coronated #

keep finding more of the stampsof his father on colonial countries

im preparing a workshop choosing which to investigate first...soaking paper off ...drying

before cataloguing ..identify by a few comparisons ..i put on dark background and turn to see watermark..i think one has just come up with a rare sideways watermark

Don't quote me on stamps. HM faces left on the standard ones, as opposed to on the coins.

Edward VIII was not crowned but still counts as a king. The ceremony plan was in progress and used for that of George VI.

Edward VIII was never Prince Regent!
He was made Prince of Wales on his 16th birthday.

He was never crowned; and was the reigning monarch from 10th January until 11th December 1936 - a reign of 326 days.

Sideways watermarks usually appear on stamps from a coil, rather than a sheet.
E.G. booklet stamps.

Edward VIII stamps were certainly issued, I have some for the UK, but I can't remember any for the 'Empire'.  I'm not sure about coinage though.

A more likely scenario for me would be that a previous owner of the album has carefully removed that page for personal reasons.  I'm sure Messrs Gibbons would not perpetrate an improper act  :o
