difficult to read 1851 census
« on: Monday 02 August 21 11:38 BST (UK) »
I have found a 1851 census on An..try but can not read the occupation of the head of the family, because the image is badly faded. I have tried to look at the negative image but that has not helped either I have tried to find it on the Find My Past site but it does not appear to be on the site at all (I even tried searching for people on the previous and next pages with no result on FindMyPast)
Is there anywhere else where I can see the 1851 census?
Will I be in breach of any rules if give the references?

It's very difficult. I can't find him on the 1841 but on Henry's marriage entry in 1874, he's down as a labourer (dec).

Add - I see a  Ch??   labourer

attachment too big. I' ll resize

FindMyPast has some missing images, it seems.  Piece 2073 jumps from folio 273 to 558.  I agree with Gadget the first word looks like Ch....  but the second word isn't like the Labourer in the entry three lines down.

Maybe if he is someone important to your research the death certificate might clarify?
Deaths Jun 1852
Herringshaw    Abraham        Warwick    6d   242

Yes, Chair or Chain - were they industries in the area?
